Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions

A Duke University student and a recent Duke University graduate have been named to a cohort of eight 2018 Energy Scholars by OneEnergy  Renewables in partnership with 3Degrees and Net Impact.

The Energy Scholars Program, now in its seventh year, is designed to cultivate and empower tomorrow's renewable energy leaders through professional mentoring, networking, and industry access. The goal of the program is to foster a new generation of skilled and experienced professionals to take on the fight against climate change.

  • Congratulations to current Nicholas School of the Environment student Taylor Price, who is pursuing a master's degree in environmental management, as well as a Certificate in Environmental Entrepreneurship. Taylor is one of eight first-year students in the Duke University Nicholas Scholars Program, is a Duke University Nemergut Scholar, and a GreenBiz 2017 Emerging Leader. She holds a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
  • Congratulations to recent Pratt School of Engineering alumnus Nitish Garg, who completed his master's degree in engineering management in fall 2017. Nitish (who served as president of the Duke MEMP Energy Club) also holds a bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from PEC University of Technology in Chandigarh, India. Nitish's interest in renewable and clean energy developed early on, having grown up in a small town in northern India where he and his family had access to electricity for fewer than six hours per day.
