BIO:

Mirka della Cava serves as the Program Manager for the Colorado Energy Office's Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) program. EPC promotes public/private partnerships by connecting energy service companies (ESCOs) and public agencies eager to realize savings from energy efficiency opportunities in existing facilities.  Mirka is delighted to be back working on public/private partnerships as she began her career working for the US EPA with the team that developed EnergyStar, one of the most successful voluntary energy efficiency programs to date. Mirka branched out to the international sphere working with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's International Energy Studies and Energy Analysis groups on a number of energy-efficiency and climate change activities including: the Water-Energy Technology Team (WETT), the US Country Studies Project, and DOE's US Initiative on Joint Implementation. While there, she launched the Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standards Program (CLASP), a non-profit organization supporting policymakers worldwide with smart analytics and technical expertise that help ensure delivery of energy savings from the appliance sector.  International work continued with her role as the Program Officer for Energy Efficiency at ClimateWorks Foundation programming philanthropic resources to grantee organizations in the US, China, India, and Europe for the express purpose of achieving improved efficiency in the appliance, buildings, and industry sectors. While there she also drove the development of regional and global efficiency organizations in the buildings sector.  Mirka holds a BA in Political Science from Duke University and a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University.
