This Mix is cohosted by 8 Rivers Capital, a local firm working to develop the sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow by inventing and commercializing large-scale innovations in critical industrial areas such as energy, transportation, and communications. The company invents and develops infrastructure-scale solutions to global problems, then licenses those solutions to world-class industrial partners for deployment. Their moon-shot projects include the Allam Cycle and NET Power, enabling the world to meet all climate targets with low-cost electricity; Thor, achieving airliner-like launch frequency and cost with a novel space launch system; and 8 Rivers Networks, allowing for fiber speed, wirelessly, at lower cost than existing wireless. 8 Rivers has called Durham home since it was founded in 2008.
