Daniel Kolomeets-Darovsky
Director of Innovation and Technology for GridMarket MEM '10
Daniel is GridMarket's innovation czar, heading up product and process development across digital, organizational and product verticals. He leads design, development and deployment of value creating products and services for the company's property owner, vendor and utility clients and stakeholders, leveraging technology partnerships and strategic alliances. His passion is bringing the greatest inventions of the 20th century (the electric grid) it into the 21st century while tackling its largest challenge: global climate change.
Prior to his current role, Daniel was a co-founder of a renewable energy development and finance platform and a boutique consulting firm focused on the energy and sustainability sectors. He holds a B.A. degree from New York University in Economics, Political Science and Business and a Masters of Environmental Management (MEM) from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment with a focus on energy economics, policy and business.
Katharine Kollins
President of Southeastern Wind Coalition MEM/MBA '09
Katharine is President of the Southeastern Wind Coalition, a non-profit dedicated to advancing wind power in the Southeast through outreach and education. Katharine has been in this role since October 2015. She manages SEWC's programming across 11 states working with a wide variety of stakeholders to promote land-based, offshore, and imported wind power. Prior to SEWC Katharine held various roles across the finance and renewable energy industries.
Katharine is a 2009 graduate of Duke's Fuqua School of Business and Nicholas School of the Environment, where she earned her MBA and Master of Environmental Management with a concentration in Energy. She holds a BS in Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Cullen Morris
President of Cooperative Solar, LLC. MEM '10
Cullen Morris hails from the software industry and brings years of project management experience. Prior to forming Cooperative Solar, he spent three years building a deep pipeline of solar projects for Strata Solar. As Vice President of Development, Cullen managed over 150 projects, more than 70 of which have been built in North Carolina to date. He has a thorough understanding of what it takes to develop and build a utility scale solar facility. Cullen has an engineering degree from Virginia Tech and a Masters in Environmental Management from Duke University.
Shaina Nanavati
Innovation and Business Development Analyst for North Carolina's Electric Cooperatives MEM '17
Shaina graduated with her M.E.M. in Energy and Environment in 2017 and now works as Innovation and Business Development analyst at North Carolina's Electric Cooperatives. Prior to attending Duke, she worked on state level clean energy policy and electric transportation in California and Virginia.
She also received a BA in Economics and Philosophy from University of California, Davis. During her time at NSOE Shaina co-founded the Diverse & Inclusive Community for the Environment (DICE), served as a research assistant at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions. When she isn't furiously tweeting about environmental justice in North Carolina, Shaina can be found gardening, practicing yoga, registering voters, or ensnaring strangers into becoming her friend.
Josh Nash Maravich
Solar Production Engineer for Ecoplexus, Inc. MEM '13
John Nash Maravich has spent the last five years working in the Triangle for two energy / IoT technology startups and now a solar power plant developer in the operations group. Prior to working with Ecoplexus, Inc., Mr. Maravich worked as an Energy Data Analyst for RTI International and PlotWatt. Mr. Maravich brings a perspective capable of contrasting working for smaller earlier stage companies to working with larger more traditional companies. Josh is a graduate of 2013 from the Nicholas School of the Environment and holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Science from Virginia Wesleyan College.
