Sponsored by the Energy Research Seminar Series
Mike Toman (Environment and Energy Unit, Development Research Group, World Bank) delivers a presentation, beginning with an overview of evidence on how the availability and "quality" of energy services affects economic development – meaning broad-based income growth and improvement in economic well-being, along with reduction in extreme poverty. The second part of the presentation outlines a potential research agenda for attempting to reduce knowledge gaps that hamper adoption of improved energy technologies.
